So today we're obviously going to talk about beauty. Because I'm never going to deviate from my goal, which is to constantly amaze you with the most beautiful creations on the planet.
Today is Liza Minnelli's birthday.
And I might as well tell you that this girl, whose name comes from a song by the Gershwin brothers, is very important to me.
Not just because I revere her father, Vincente, who wrote some of MGM's finest musicals, and her mother Judy Garland, who starred in A Star is Born, The Wizard of Oz and, most importantly, The Pirate.
But also because she herself had a majestic career, appearing in Bob Fosse's Cabaret, Scorsese's New York New York and Steve Gordon's Arthur.
So I'm taking the liberty of using this newsletter to shout out my admiration for her and urge you to see her films, in which she gives it her all, almost as Patricia.
