A Patricia Blanchet Newsletter is like champagne. You never know which vintage you're going to get, but you do know that it's always going to be at least halfway good, not to say wonderful. Now that I've said that, let me tell you what happens next. Today I want to share with you my desire to do nothing. I'd like to relax in a hammock and watch the barman at the cruise make me a jug of Margarita. I love it (la Marga).
Mexicans are the greatest people on the planet. I wish they'd let Trump finish that wall so they don't have to let any more Americans come into their country and plunder their rich, generous culture. I'm kidding, of course, but that's just so you understand how much I love tacos. Tacos and fajitas, fajitas and enchiladas. Enchiladas and mezcal. Mezcal and the Mayans. Mayans and their pyramids. You see, the list is endless. So let me start again, I could see myself in a hammock on a wooden deck overlooking a turquoise sea, watching the cruise bartender prepare a stiff Margarita.
Why a stiff Margarita ? Because I've given enough of myself over these first 9 months to give myself a well-deserved mental break. A break without bastards, without stress, without constraints. With something to turn my head, my emotions, and above all, disconnect myself from things that are of no use to me. Once I've drunk my pitcher, I'll take to the water with someone capable of making love to me like in a Colombian telenovela.
With ardor, but also with attitude. Just to leave me trembling and ready for a second pitcher. Then I'll swim to the island ten kilometers from mine and lie on the fine white sand, waiting for my stallion to come back and take care of me. Then, in the evening, I'll put up a big white sheet on which I'll broadcast the latest Palme d'Or.
I'll invite my friends over and serve them grapefruit and broccoli from the sea. Then we'll play poker and take my flying pedalo to Las Vegas for a huge party on the roof of Caesar Palace. That's my dream. It's not all restful, I agree, but that's how I like to stand back and gain perspective. I give you a big hug and wish you the best of weekends.
