CARTON PLEIN, A MUCH-NEEDED ORGANISATION
When we receive our beautiful little shoes, they arrive in boxes, very large boxes which, once emptied, are of little use to us and even become cumbersome.
So instead of throwing them away one by one in the yellow bins, we found a great association that offers a very organised service: they come and collect the boxes from us by bike, cart or three-wheeler.
What makes this organisation special is that it hires and supports people who are a long way from employment. The support provided consists of opening up access to rights (health, housing, social aid), digital inclusion, opening a bank account, relearning how to behave in a group and regaining confidence in others and in oneself. Of those who pass through Carton Plein, 60% find their way into employment.
Once collected, the boxes are recycled, then stored by category and sold directly in the shop or via their website. In short, they make our lives easier by helping others, so it's a superb organisation, very professional and very well run. I can't recommend it highly enough.
