THE NEWSLETTER THAT SMELLS OF LOVE
Patricia is your most wondeful friend.
Never have I sat down thinking, "Ah, today, I feel like writing a crappy Newsletter". After all, why not ? I could very well slash my work and not care at all about the quality of my messages. But that's not the case. I'm not that kind of person. I would be completely incapable of delivering something of poor quality to you. However, delivering harm that, I’m perfectly capable of.
In fact, that is my primary mission : to provide you with satisfaction. This requires self-sacrifice. In this regard, I am constantly giving, offering my memory and brainpower. When I think of designing a shoe, an ode to joy instantly comes to mind. It is in this spirit that I begin improvising sketches and collages to reach the ultimate goal—a summit dedicated to you, all the time.
I don’t know if I’ve mentioned this here, but at the risk of repeating myself, I’m going to. There’s Jérôme Seydoux, the head of Pathé, who has taken to turning cinema into the art of golf. Let me explain : he’s been releasing film after film (or cost after cost, as the case may be) and producing blockbusters such as Les Trois Mousquetaires and Monte Cristo, films that cost tens of millions of euros. Well, that’s fine, Jérôme, if you want to compete with the Americans by plundering Dumas’ repertoire.
The problem is that he distributes them behind the scenes, partly in his theaters those he has renovated at great expense. Not all of them; there are still some “normal” ones. However, even there, for an adult on a weekday evening, admission costs 15€. In the new Pathé "Palace" theaters, the price rises to 25€. As I write this, I realize I've already mentioned it, but it doesn't matter; I'll emphasize the point again. 15€ for a ticket is equivalent to a month's subscription to Netflix or any of the other streaming platforms where cinema is becoming standardized at breakneck speed. Cinema, which was already not very accessible for families, is turning into a leisure activity for the wealthy.
