Who Am I?

The Patricia Blanchet Peach open-toe pump is like Love Actua-heel-ly knocking on your door: "knock, knock, I'm the most beautiful shoe on the planet, please open your door so I can show you my beautiful peacock feather, my beautiful 7 cm heel, my beautiful cut-out that will pay homage to your foot. I'll accompany you to your parties, your weddings, your restaurants, your cocktail hours, your concerts, your work or personal appointments, your dates. I'll be that ally you've been longing for. I love you."

Material and Care

For the nubuck part, it's important to waterproof the material before the first use, and then frequently if you want to keep your shoes in good condition. Be careful to waterproof only the nubuck, as the glitter does not require any special care apart from attention and constant love. Avoid prolonged exposure to sun and water. Be sure to remove the protective plastic from the soles before wearing your shoes, once you're sure you won't be returning them for a refund, and don't wait too long to have your soles fitted with a no slip pad by an experienced cobbler.

THE TRUE STORY OF THE PEACH

The Peach is the Travolta's little sister. It was born after the Travolta, with the aim of offering you a heel with less height and more surface area. The Peach peaks at a reasonable 7 centimetres. That's where the real fun begins.

If the Travolta was inspired by John in Grease, John in Saturday Night Fever and John in Volte Face, what about the Peach? Because, in the end, that's all we're interested in.

The Peach was born the day I went to the cinema to see a double program in the Pigalle area. Films starring Sonny Chiba. The hero my father was so crazy about. He'd watch all his films on VHS to draw inspiration from his fighting techniques.

Sometimes, I'd serve as a punching bag to help him perfect his game, and thanks to my patience, he was able to progress and win a few tournaments in the provinces.
This tough childhood enabled me to stand up for myself on the playground. It has to be said that in middle school, because I had grown up faster than the others, I was something of a phenomenon. This special status made the others want to fight me. But thanks to my parries, my art of the sweep and the ground tackle, I had become a terror while secretly dreaming of cuddling them. Which, in a way, I did, because instead of going to the nurse's office, I bandaged them myself, or reattached their scalps with a sewing needle and the threads of my jeans.

Anyway, that day, I wanted to see my childhood hero again. I'd put on my heavy leopard faux fur jacket, because it was freezing cold, which I didn't take off once I was seated in an incredibly empty room. Standing alone in front of me was a guy with a nice little lock of hair and a leather suit jacket, who laughed loudly every time someone spoke or got a lath in the face.

At first, it annoyed me, but I soon realized that he was doing it out of the goodness of his heart, and after a while I found it very communicative, so I approached him and offered to share my big tub of Haribo sweets. In exchange, he offered me some cigarettes, which we lit up in a flurry.

Patricia Blanchet

It was nice to see a kung-fu movie as if it were a Claude Zidi comedy. I'd never thought about it before.

When the second film ended, I suggested to the little guy that we go for a pint, or two. He agreed. The little guy was a record salesman at Porte des Lilas. He didn't earn much, but he loved his job and his boss, who gave him free rein and the use of the upstairs storeroom, part of which he'd set up with a cot to sleep on. His name was Lolo, but everyone called him the Lol because he was always having a laugh. I could only agree with them.

He suggested we go for a longburger at FreeTime and listen to some vinyl in his store. I had nothing better to do, and even if it looked like a made-up trap, I still preferred it to falling asleep like a wreck with a joint in front of a TF1 TV show.

Patricia Blanchet

After showing me the boutique's latest purchases, he invited me onto the building's roof terrace with a pitcher of mulled wine. It was filthy, but warming in these freezing days.

Above all, it made me want to move closer to Lol and kiss him to feel his big tongue ribbed with papillae. We must have twirled our respective appendages a good thousand times in each other's mouths. Enough for early morning to dawn. From then on, he decided I tasted like a peach. He nicknamed me Peach.
After that first date, we never left each other's side.

He asked his boss to hire me. Which he did out of friendship. Problem was, the business wasn't generating enough to pay me a penny. So I paid myself by bringing out rare albums, which I would resell at two or three times their value at the end of middle-class schools. Thanks to this, I could afford Marlboros and large bottles of Coke, which I downed at high speed. We stayed together for 6 months, living on vinyl and cold beers, hugging and kissing until apnea tore us apart.

When we weren't at the store, we spent our time in local movie theaters looking for Sonny Chiba rarities before agreeing that our lives weren't to be enjoyed in such a small space. And The Lol wanted to see a film by the great champion on site.

So, we scraped the bottom of our drawers in search of every last yen that would get us to Tokyo, and thanks to our combined efforts, plus my sales of albums that had fallen off the back of the truck, we scraped together the sum we needed to take off and head east.

Our first stop was a mochi factory on the outskirts of the capital. Looking for a place to spend the night after getting lost, we snuck into the factory, thinking it was abandoned.

In the moonlight, among the silent machines and piles of soft mochi, our friendship took an unexpected turn. The unusual setting, combined with the adrenalin of our adventures, brought us together in an invigorating way.

That evening, we shared an intimate moment, enveloped in the sweet aroma of mochi, an experience that would unite us forever.

The next day, we resumed our quest to find Sonny Chiba. However, fate had other far-fetched plans for us. Strolling through the bustling streets of Tokyo, we came across an impromptu cosplay contest organized by a local group of movie fans. Fueled by excitement, we decided to take part, improvising costumes with whatever we had on hand. I transformed myself into an extravagant version of Princess Leia with uranium accessories, while The Lol dressed up as a Japanese Inspector Clouzot, armed with chopsticks and mochi discs as ninja stars.

Patricia Blanchet

To our surprise, not only did we win the contest hands down, but our performance caught the attention of an old friend of Sonny Chiba's, who was in the crowd. Impressed by our passion and creativity, he invited us to an event where Chiba was to appear the following day. We accepted without wimping out, and after borrowing a limousine, a 3-mast and a helicopter, we arrived at the star's mansion, protected as if he were an underworld godfather. There, we shared our best anecdotes with him, recounting in detail our meeting and a not inconsiderable portion of our best romps.

Disconcerted by our fervor and our Western way of revealing intimate details, he invited us to stay for a week at his place and take part in Empire of the Senses 3, but we had to decline. After kissing me, dear Sonny said: "But, she tastes like a peach, this little one", confirming forever that I was the Peach that the Lol had always seen in me. So it was time for us to go home, and for me to start drawing and bringing to life this fabulous pump with its 7 cm heel.
