I hope you appreciated the fact that I didn't mention the changeover to autumn, which took place on September 23rd this year. I've left it to nature itself to deliver the mixed news. Because the start of autumn may coincide with my birthday and my arrival on earth as the chosen one of the shoe world, but I also know how to keep my mouth shut. It has to be said that it's a funny situation.
With the end of abundance in sight and the spectre of energy cuts looming, it's already February temperatures in the middle of September. It's as if all this were just the orchestration of a meticulously prepared opera. I have to admit that these current temperatures don't suit me at all, as I go for a run at 5am in the morning, followed by a 5-minute cold shower. Yes, the number 5 is very important in my life. It protects me. Just like red. Especially red wine.
But I've still got you in mind, and once again this year I've come up with some amazing shoe ideas that should send your feet into orbit. Starting with all the colours I've used to colour the Austen, voted best product of the year by Xavier Niel's wife. I won't say who it's about, because name dropping isn't my style. But that's not all, there's also the superb, twirling Tornade which, in my opinion, is my greatest and most moving creation since the start of the adventure.
So you see, we can be promised lightning and rage in our homes, but I'm keeping my head above water and taking a deep breath to get some fresh air before plunging into the depths at the end of the year. I say depth so as not to complicate my text, but in reality I'm thinking height thanks to my new hobby: transcendental meditation. It may sound crazy, but I was introduced to it by David Lynch himself when he was lost on rue Beaurepaire.
He came into the shop, which he found very beautiful, and began to ask us all sorts of questions about our family, where we'd come from, and how we'd managed to invent and produce shoes of such refinement? After spending the whole afternoon answering his questions, he kindly offered to teach me how to meditate. Since that day, exactly 5 years ago, I have enjoyed learning from him twice a day. And thanks to him, I've become even better at it. So I can't encourage you to do the same and dive in to find the little girl who's waiting for you like you wait for your parents at the supermarket when you get lost.
Obviously you didn't need me to tell you that, but what a pleasure it was to listen to it with all the windows open in your 205 Junior with denim seats:
